My name is Harley and I'm the face behind Creative Research Toolkit!
I am a creative arts practitioner who works with both community and in professional spaces all over Scotland! I also co-founded and co-own the independent film company M3 Pictures UK, where I get to write crazy stories and make them with willing creatives.
My Story
How did Creative Research Toolkit come around?
That's honestly a great question that I ask myself often. It all began in the BA Arts With Community classroom during a session of our module Self-Determined Learner where we had to come up with our research project. I really wanted to investigate how neuroscience connects with community arts, however, no neuroscientist would connect with me! So, after a couple of ideas I thought that researching research methods is a great idea and that I can present them in a handy toolkit for many other practitioners to use whenever they are researching. Working closely with my project supervisor, Dr Alan Cusack, I finally created the first couple drafts of the original Creative Research Toolkit and shared it amongst the class and other creatives in the institution of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. The rest is history I suppose...
